Luang Thai or Thai Luang, web site, 171 Elden Street, Herndon, VA, 703-478-2233, recommended by a correspondent, on Baron Cameron/Elden Street, in the Virginia Power Building, across from an Outback (“somewhat,” writes Rick Gonzalez), hidden from the street. (Metro Trip Planner – opens in new window) [City Paper | food-plan | openlist | Yelp | Gayot]
Hidden from street, that is usually a good sign.

Best Thai place in Herndon. Their specialty is the crispy duck, but I really go there for the green papaya salad, and sometimes the panang curry. They will make things Thai spicy if you ask. (I don’t ask!)
You will probably get lost the first time you try to come here; yes, it is the only thing open in this little office plaza at night.
Thai Luang is by far the best Thai food that I have experienced in all of VA and DC. You will not be disappointed!
The chefs here moved to a place down the road called Thai Tada about a year and a half ago. Since then, quality has dropped significantly here. Thai Tada is where to go for Thai in the Reston/Herndon area, nowadays.
