Located in Lake Placid, N.Y., the restaurant opened in April of 1956. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.post-gazette.com\/opinion\/2015\/03\/31\/It-s-the-passing-of-Howard-Johnson-s-America-as-those-orange-roofed-icons-disappear\/stories\/201503310111\">The <em>Pittsburgh Post-Gazette<\/em> writes<\/a> that the owners of the Lake Placid location are getting old and their children are &#8220;not interested&#8221; in taking over.
