Ash cloud permitting, I’ll be there for five days in late May, on my way to Berlin. I have all the usual guidebooks, beyond that what should I do and where should I eat?

As far as sights go, Topkap? Saray? I found to be the most fun. Take a trip on the feribot across the Bosphorus to the Asian side of the city; I didn’t see much interesting there, but the boat ride was fun. I’m a student, so I mostly ate at pide and kebap shops, but on the east side of the European part of the city, past the haliç, there are a lot of fish places, some are even on the Galata bridge. Have fun!
