Tofu Lighthouse Restaurant, or Vit Goel ToFu House, 4121 Chatelain Road, Suite 100, Annandale, VA, 703-333-3436 (Metro Trip Planner – opens in new window) [Korean DC]
For Annandale, this place is not above average Korean. In other words, it is really good. Limited menu, this place has decided to specialize in tofu and barbecue dishes.

Go here for the best Korean tofu stew (Soon dubu chigae) in the DC area (better than Soo Rah). The tofu is very good, but they tend to put in a bit too much MSG. There is also a branch out in Rockville.

Was absolutely excellent when it first opened, now I find it to be simply very good. Your experience will vary depending on if the owner is around.
The pickled cucumbers which come with all orders used to be the very best I have ever tasted, but their decline mirrors the overall complacency of the establishment. Too much vinegar now and obviously prepared in bulk and earlier than they should be, used to be so fresh, so crisp, so delicately seasoned.
Still, it is worth repeat visits. Get the tofu, of course, but also the squid (very spicy, very very good).
I just heard from a Korean acquaintance that Vit Goel (Lighthouse Tofu) is in process of opening a 3rd restaurant in Centreville, in the same shopping center off Old Centreville Road and St. Germain Drive where Grand Mart, Shilla Bakery, Tian, Masala Country, and other eateries are located. Apparently the owner of Lighthouse Tofu is a friend of his. Posted March 24, 2009
